Champions of the Preservation Community Step-Up for APHN and Jazz Brunch Monday, May 13 2013

Posted by Doyle Bailey for The Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches

Saturday, May 11, 2013 saw approximately 1oo persons enjoy a Jazz Brunch featuring Chef Chris Levy and the Sweet Cane Inn at the Melrose Plantation. Executive Director of APHN,  Adam T. Foreman welcomed guests for the event which took place during National Preservation Month May 2013.    The cuisine was superb, the music delightful and the Silent Auction engaging.

A poem was recited by Dr. Julie Kane, Louisiana Poet Laureate entitled Natchitoches In Song and Story.  This hauntingly beautiful piece was written by George Williamson in 1923.   Read the full text by going to the APHN website.
